Removing weight from the flywheel is the single thing that will improve acceleration and throttle response more readily than any other single modification. Inertia is not your friend, and reducing rotational inertia will also improve critical throttle response, especially for road racing, rallying and autocrossing.

While most vehicles can benefit from a lightened flywheel, if your vehicle has a heavy, cumbersome dual-mass flywheel, you can replace it with an EXEDY lightweight flywheel.
